Quick Summary of Week Three
Generals defeat Fanatics 5-4-1-Thanks to Chase Utley and a two homer game, the Generals eke out a victory in the Major League division. Said Utley, "I am tired of hearing my owner made fun of by Todd "Boston Rob" Farino." The Fanatics offense wakes up and gets 4 HR from Manny Ramirez, as the Generals' reliever strategy flops again.
Fantasy Baseball Search edges Baseball Geeks 6-4-Turning to the marquee matchup in the AAA division, Rob's funeral dirge on his podcast fails to turn the tide as Farino's plucky squad wins another close victory. Reed, in an interview after the game said "I knew I should not have listened to those gorillas at the zoo, though to be fair I mistook one of them for Tim Dierkes."
Rotodoc beats Greco 5-4-1 Greco's team obviously was rattled by the release of Chad Cordero following on the heels of the stunning trade of its clubhouse leader Carlos Lee. No one can fault Greco for his rotating door strategy as he got stats this week from 14 different reserve players. Cordero, obviously miffed, said "Screw that pretty boy owner, now I am going to play for his arch enemy Farino." Rotodoc is looking like the class of the AAA division as they are tied with Greco and Fantasy Baseball Search at the top with a 17-11-2 record, getting the nod for the win over Greco.
Fantasy Baseball Geeks rout Pro Fantasy Games 7-3 The league gets the questionable benefit of having yet another Farino in the league with Pro Fantasy Games, who takes over the team from Stoney's Lounge. Promptly getting hammered is not a good way to start the league, but then again this is an owner who said that Ryan Braun could be the best player in fantasy baseball this year. Sean Sultaire says "Welcome to the league beyotch."
Mock Draft Central beats Junkyard Jake 6-4 Despite his well reasoned pleas and the fact that MDC's logo is a giant pear, RC's entreaties lead only to a moral victory. MDC is looking very tough so far as their top starter and speed strategy has vaulted them to second place in the tough division. RC's team puts up a very fine showing, and helps out the rest of the teams in the Major League division as he keeps Mock Draft Central in everyone's sights.
RotoAuthority beats Fantasy Baseball Mafia 6-3-1. The luster is clearly off the FBM squad as my number one overall team gives them a licking. Facing the specter of a rout this week, Evan Dickens decides to leave the Wiretap radio show in order to prepare for his eventual demise in week 4. So far RotoAuthority is the best team in the league.
