The Generals Face RotoAuthority

RotoAuthority OF Lastings Milledge, dressing for success in the RotoAuthority Clubhouse.

After a heartbreaking loss at the hands of Fantasy Baseball Mafia's stunning performance this week, which was spurred on by the Caligula-like team headquarters in Oregon, and the inspirational romance between owner Evan Dickens and pitcher Brandon Lyon, life doesn't get any easier. This week The Generals take on the team that I voted the best in the league with RotoAuthority.

Offensively this week should be a bloodbath, with two top notch offenses facing off. Who knows what will happen here, both teams are stacked. RotoAuthority has Russell Martin, Lance Berkman, Brian Roberts, Wright, Furcal, Fukudome, Hart and Kemp. Ugh. This is going to be one hell of a battle.

The pitching battle should be "pitched" forgive the pun. The first two weeks my relievers got hammered, but they have now turned it around and are at midseason form. So this will be an interesting test this week, as RotoAuthority's main weakness is the quality of its starting pitching. He has gotten fantastic and unexpected starts from Joe Saunders, Zack Greinke and Tim Lincecum. So far these are three of the best overall pitchers and it is unlikely to continue in Greinke's and Saunders' cases when looking at their skills. The question is when this regression will happen. Hopefully this week!

The balance of his starters are very good but no real aces aside from maybe Javier Vazquez, with Kideki Kuroda, Todd Wellmeyer and Greg Maddux. The Generals should have an advantage in relief with its stable of closers and LIMA relievers facing off only against Matt Capps and Jon Rauch.

I can say that we are just hoping to survive this week at close to .500 and within striking distance of first. After this week we expect to have a huge win, very likely 8-2 or better, in week 6.
